Hello and Welcome to my website

I’m Rubie

I'm an illustrator working from my little desk studio.

I'm a new mum, flower lover and wheelchair rugby player.

I paint and draw but my great love is watercolour.

I make prints, Illustrations and portraits, inspired by everyday life— quiet mornings, beautiful people, beloved pets, family stories, and little things I love.

I live in Tasmania just outside of Hobart, with my little family, our two dogs, some chicken and ducks and some bees. We also host a daily Morning conventicle for the local magpies.

I’ve been painting since I was gifted a little watercolour set for my seventh birthday. I then decided art wasn’t for me when I attended one week of art school and went to study translation in Europe instead.

When I had a bad accident in 2019 that left me a quadriplegic, I moved back home to Tasmania, started painting again and never stopped.
